FRIDAY brings Angels & Balloons and much more!!

This week over at ALPHABET CHALLENGE blog our theme this week is A=ANGEL (or fairy)...so this photo is the grandson of a good friend that I work with.  I gave her the layout this morning as a gift.  I used Basic Grey Oliver and this sketch from SKETCH SAVVY.

Also over at FROSTED DESIGNS the challenge this week is a HOLIDAY ITEM.  So I made this jar...I just covered a pickle jar with patterned paper, wrapped a ribbon around it and added some stickers.

CLUB CREATING KEEPSAKES is having a challenge this week to use product from one of the magizine articles (I used the black Jenni Bowlin alphas & spray mist)...and also to use BLACK.

And over at MEMORABLE SEASONS they are having a sketch challenge:

And finally.... I made a 16x20 canvas for John's (husband) massage room.  I painted it (grungy, on purpose) and added the wood block words.

Science Projects & Grandpa

Welcome to Friday!!!

Today at Alphabet Challenge  its the end of the Alphabet... Z for Zig Zag..  So, I used Ric-Rac along the bottom edge of this 2 page layout (rare for me... ) -- I had some serious help from this awesome sketch from SKETCH SAVVY.  -- All supplies are Jillibean Soup Atomic Soup (except for Alphas, Thickers of course, and the ric-rac)

And at FROSTED DESIGNS - this weeks challenge is DIECUTS.  Now, since I don't have a die-cut machine, I dug through some really old supplies and came up with this Caution Sign and the Grandpa title.  Paper is Basic Grey Lime Rickey.  --

(He wants to be a) COWBOY!!!

This month over at SCRAP OUR STASH there is a "Pagerize" (scraplift) challenge ...  using this layout from CHRISTY as your inspiration. ...

I love that circle design on Christy's layout. So, I pretty much stuck to the general design of her layout... I cut out the center of a die-cut circle and distressed it, tearing/crumpling/inking. I used ribbon and pleated it for the vertical piece...(I used glue dots & brown staples to get it to stick). A few journal spots for embellies (popped up) & a couple stick pins I had sitting around I didn't know what to do with (they worked perfectly here). Some misting and this photo of Joseph a few weeks ago wearing his "real" cowboy hat. YEA!! I'm really happy with how this turned out!

Goats & Hamsters & Ice Cream Cake!!!

Ok, here are some mid-week items...

1)  My FAVE Things challenge is FAVORITE PET.  I also combined this with SCRAPBOOKERS ANONYMOUS challenge to use 3 diff manufacturers patterned paper (the older the better).  I used:
A to Z (Brown background), Making Memories (Kraft paper pleats) and Pebbles (border strips).

2)  SKETCHES IN THYME sketch to document Joseph's recent B-day cake.  The right piece (w/words) is a "sheer"...it's see through...there is nothing behind it but the concrete ground.  I tried taking a photo standing up so you could see the depth but the lighting was terrible and I couldn't get a good shot yesterday.

3)  THE SCRAPPIEST sketch:  This is my friend & co-worker, Susan & her grandson at a recent b-day party that had a petting zoo.  I gave this layout to her and she was thrilled (not a scrapbooker...)

4).... I made a card...  Don't faint...  There was a challenge over at the CK blog to use the scraps from a layout (mine was the I SPY layout from the previous post)...   so I made this card... I used a tutorial that Megan posted on Memorable Seasons MB.

I SPY, Earth, Water (Pool) & Sparkles!!

This week at Alphabet Challenge  it's Y for YELLOW!!!  So here is my Yellow layout..which I will also be submitting at the Club CK blog where their color challenge this month is yellow, black & red.

Also, at the Club CK blog, I submitted this layout for a concept of "paper strips"... I used another one of Susan Stringfellow's awesome sketches that can be found at SKETCH SAVVY (see sketch below my layout).  I used a REALLY old Cosmo line called Get Happy.  Love the colors...that's why I bought it..wonder why it took me so long to use it (over supplied..maybe?!!!)

And....also at the Club CK blog there is a color challenge... mine is based on Rose Red, Olive, Pumpkin & Suede (brown).

And last but CERTAINLY not least...I found a new challenge blog that looks interesting, so I'm playing along this month!!!  It's called SPARKLE DREAMS  -- they have a sketch (a card sketch, but I made it into a layout)....and the challenge was also to use sparkle & flowers.  So there for "sparkle", I have white glimmer mist on the background & also a rhinestone brad as the flower center.  For the "flower", this was a little tough since I did a boy page..but I snuck a flower in and also the little card has flowers on it (I thought the card was stretching it, so I made sure to add the red flower).  Sketch is below my layout.  -- Oh I also used my October Scrapbook Circle kit for this one!  (except for the red flower & rhinestone brad)

DOODLING, XMAS & REPTILES making HAPPY ACCIDENTS !!!!!

PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY TO THE END FOR SOME SPECIAL NEWS !!!

This week at FROSTED DESIGNS our challenge is DOODLING or HANDWRITING on your layout.  Yea....  pulled out my trusty ole' white pen (Thanks E)... and started messing around with the 1+1=2, then added ABC, then some designs, then a little more, then a little more, then decided to go ahead and go for it and do the title by hand.... YEP everything white is my hand doodling (and I honestly can't draw worth a darn!!).... Glad I wasn't scared to do this!!  You should try it.... then go over to Frosted and enter your layout (or card or project).  -- PP is all Bella Blvd new Midterm line.

Also today over at ALPHABET CHALLENGE starts the weekly challenge X=Xmas.  Ok, so I had to dig out some old xmas photos...these ended up being quite a few years old...but how cute, huh?  I think he towers over that snowman now!!  It'll be fun to compare this year when we get it out...(oh my, that's only in like another month or so...WOW!!)

Ok...so here's the SPECIAL NEWS.... It's about HAPPY ACCIDENTS!!
I'm on the Design Team over at SCRAP OUR STASH and we do a "Frugal Friday" or some kind of fun tip every Friday.  So this week, I sent in a layout that JOSEPH did this week...and here was the tip.
He had done this layout for a stitching challenge (over at the Club CK Blog)...he was painting the chipboard swirl green when he got some paint on his layout.  So he just added a few brushstokes to his layout.    But while he was doing that, he got some paint on one of his title letters.  He was upset about that and tried to wipe the paint off of the textured letter.  He then realized something and said "It looks like reptile scales"... Cool....paint and wipe off the rest of the letters!!  Reptile scaley looking letters???? YEP.. .... HAPPY ACCIDENT!!!  I'm going to post this on HIS blog too...so please go over there real quick and leave him some love....he always reads his comments!!

Cool & Celebrating....

Challenges this week & a few "extras"....

1) DESIGN DOLLIES sketch....  (and also a stitching challenge on the Club CK board)

2)  SKETCHES IN THYME sketch...

3)  SCRAPFIT  mini work out #4....make a bookmark.  Must use scraps from the last Scrapfit project (which for me was the Grandparents layout, ..lots of misting, recycled Jillibean Soup package and I used the Jillibean Soup Pasta Fagoli papers).  So here is my bookmark using the leftovers (and alphas) from JBS.

4)  Over at my fave online shopping place MEMORABLE SEASONS they are having challenges about our HOMES (actually these were September and I'm just getting them uploaded)..
This layout is about the house where you grew up...fitting since my parents have sold this house and as of tomorrow they will not own it any longer ...they lived there since 1959.
I also used sketch #83 (the last for September) from 9/27 from THE SCRAPPIEST

5) Another HOME challenge over at MEMORABLE SEASONS....Look outside your back door...what do you see.  This was great as I finally got to document the view of my 3 crosses from the church behind our house.  I just realized I need to add some journaling to this layout...

5)  SKETCH SAVVY -- ok this is not a "challenge" site..but rather an AWESOME sketch site.  I love these sketches to just get me going and not feel like it's part of a "challenge" (cuz it's not!!)....
So here is one I did for fun!  (oh..I intentionally spelled RACQUET...RACKET...so don't email me!)

COWABUNGA ....ITS a TEDDY BEAR

This week at FROSTED DESIGNS is to use a book for inspiration.  So this little Teddy Bear book was Joseph's first book that he really related to...first book he learned "the words" (memorized) to, first first first.....so I documented all those in my journaling, a few pics and made a mini.  Then I decorated a tin that holds the mini AND THE BOOK ITSELF.  (the little jeans pocket is from a pair of his old pants too!)

I had this photo of Joseph at Muir Beach right as he jumped off that rock and into the water.  He said he yelled "CALABUNGA"....meaning COWABUNGA....so I've been wanting to do this layout for a while and the WINGS challenge is just the perfect touch!!  I'm really happy with how this one turned out...LOTS of FUN.  Used October Afternoon Seaside, MM alphas, Maya wings, Karen Foster stickers, BOY is a really old die cut I found laying around...  TFL!!!
